about

Teresa LoJacono is an American born artist from the coast of California.  Her photography career began in a traditionalist fashion.  Learning the art in the silence of the dark room and adopting the documentary methods.  Her earlier work focused mainly on her family.  Striving to portray a narrative on the personal bonds shared between family members, bringing forth private experiences and sharing spontaneous moments of daily life.

Obtained her BFA at Art Center College of Design learning the techniques and business side of the photographic medium.  Merely understanding the technical aspects wasn't enough for her and she soon found herself  in the MFA program at The International Center of Photography.  Now engulfed in theory and criticism her work has shifted into the realm of self discover and the human form.  While still retaining the spontaneity present in her earlier work.

LoJacono currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
